What Are My Latitude and Longitude?

The tool displays them in decimal degrees, plus an accuracy radius showing how precise the reading is.

How Your Device Knows Where You Are
Your browser asks the device for its position through the standard Geolocation API. The device picks the best source available:
| Source | Typical accuracy | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| GPS / GNSS satellites | About 5 m outdoors with a clear sky | Phones and tablets outdoors |
| Wi-Fi positioning | Roughly 10–50 m | Indoors and in cities; laptops |
| Cell towers | Hundreds of meters to a few km | Phones without GPS fix or Wi-Fi |
| IP address | City level — often several km off | Desktops with no other source |
The accuracy figure shown with your result tells you which source was used: a few meters means GPS; hundreds of meters or more means Wi-Fi, cell or IP.
Is My Location Stored?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is my latitude and longitude right now?
Click "Get Location" and allow access — your current latitude and longitude appear at the top of this page in decimal degrees, along with an accuracy radius.
How accurate is my location?
On a phone outdoors, usually within about 5 m. Indoors or on a laptop it can be tens of meters to several kilometers, depending on whether Wi-Fi, cell towers or your IP address were used. The accuracy figure shown reflects the expected error.
How do I find my coordinates on iPhone or Android?
Open this page in Safari or Chrome and allow location access. On iPhone you can also open the Compass app; on Android, press and hold your blue dot in Google Maps to see the coordinates.
Can this tool track someone else's phone?
No. It only shows the location of the device you are using, and only after you give permission. To share your location with someone, use the Share button or your phone's built-in location-sharing feature.
Why does my location show the wrong city?
Your device probably fell back to IP-based location, which often points to your internet provider's hub. Turn on Wi-Fi or GPS and try again.
